Swedish study trip
On June 26, 1964, the linguist Els Oksaar signed the Golden Book of the city of Wiesbaden as part of a Swedish study trip.
In the summer of 1964, the Swedish linguist Els Oksaar and her husband Arved visited Wiesbaden as part of a study trip.
The two academics continued a tradition of Swedish study trips to the spa town, which was documented as early as 1931 with an entry in the Golden Book.
In his brief speech on June 26, Lord Mayor Buch expressed his delight that the academics had taken up this tradition.
Els Oksaar spoke about her close connection to Germany, which also goes back to her studies in Bonn. Afterwards, she and her husband signed the city's Golden Book among the other Swedish study trips.
In 1967, she accepted a professorship for literary studies at the University of Hamburg, which she held until her retirement in 1992.
