Prince Takamatsu of Japan

On October 20, 1930, Prince Takamatsu of Japan and his wife signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

Prince Nobuhito of Takamatsu was born on January 3, 1905 as the third son of Emperor Taisho and Empress Teimei. As head of the Takamatsu-no-miya princely house, he headed one of the four hereditary imperial branch families that would have ascended the Japanese imperial throne in the absence of a successor.

He served in the Imperial Japanese Navy and left with the rank of lieutenant captain. After his military service, he became involved in various voluntary organizations and promoted intercultural exchange in the fields of art, sport and medicine.

He visited Wiesbaden with his wife on October 20, 1930 on the occasion of their honeymoon in Europe. On this occasion, the princely couple signed the city's Golden Book.

Takamatsu died on February 3, 1987.
