This year's Carol Nachman Prize was awarded to the American researcher Professor Ellen M. Gravallese from Massachusetts / USA and the Scottish researcher Professor Iain B. McInnes from Glasgow, Scotland. The prize is endowed with 37,500 euros, one of the highest medical awards in Germany and serves to promote clinical, therapeutic and experimental research work in the field of rheumatology. The Board of Trustees, which is made up of renowned physicians in the field of rheumatology and representatives of the city of Wiesbaden, also decided to award the Carol Nachman Medal, worth 2,500 euros, to the German physician Dr. Julia Rautenstrauch from Stuttgart for her life's work. The award winners signed the Golden Book of the Hessian state capital.
