City plaque in gold - 300 years of music publisher Breitkopf & Härtel

Award of the city plaque in gold on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the company Musikverlag Breitkopf & Härtel on January 17, 2019.

The city plaque in gold was awarded to the music publisher Breitkopf & Härtel on January 17, 2019 in the ballroom of the town hall in recognition of its 300th anniversary. This is a unique and outstanding company anniversary in Wiesbaden. Never before has a local company been able to look back on such a long existence. To mark this special occasion, Lieselotte Sievers, former managing partner and great-great-granddaughter of company founder Bernhard Christoph Breitkopf, and managing directors Sebastian Mohr and Nick Pfefferkorn were able to sign the Golden Book of the state capital of Wiesbaden in the ballroom.

Founded in Leipzig in 1719, the music publishing house moved to Wiesbaden in 1945. It is still economically sound today and its publishing program continues to feature an incredible wealth of compositions and sheet music editions by well-known composers.
