IG Chemie, Papier und Keramik trade union conference
On September 27, 1963, the executive committee of the IG Chemie, Papier und Keramik trade union conference signed the city of Wiesbaden's Golden Book.
The Chemical, Paper and Ceramics Industrial Union was founded in Hamburg in 1946 for the then British occupation zone.
After merging with its counterpart in the American zone in 1948, the union's headquarters were re-established in Hanover in 1956. In 1997, the union merged with IG Bergbau und Energie and Gewerkschaft Leder to form the third-largest trade union in the German Trade Union Confederation, IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie.

The sixth ordinary trade union conference of the former IG Chemie, Papier und Keramik took place in Wiesbaden in 1963 under the chairmanship of Wilhelm Gefeller.
Lord Mayor Buch welcomed the trade unionists at a reception in the ballroom of the town hall on 27 September and paid tribute to their commitment and dedication to the interests of the workers.
Gefeller thanked them for the warm welcome and praised the good organization in the Hessian state capital.
The officials then signed the city's Golden Book.
