Dr. Helmut Müller is a former Lord Mayor of Wiesbaden. An economics graduate, he joined the City of Wiesbaden on September 14, 2002 in the role of City Treasurer, and from 2004 he also served as its Head of Economic Affairs. He was already active in local politics from 1997 to 2002 as a city councillor and economic and financial policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. He became mayor in September 2006 and was elected Lord Mayor on July 3, 2007.

He held this office until July 1, 2013. On the occasion of his farewell, he signed the city's Golden Book.
