Delegation of the Berlin-Kreuzberg administrative district
On July 3, 1964, a delegation from the administrative district of Berlin-Kreuzberg signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
The town twinning between Wiesbaden and the West Berlin district of Kreuzberg was established on April 23, 1964. In July, a delegation traveled to the spa town to reaffirm this friendship.
After a joint meeting of the city councillors, which was introduced with music by the Rudolf Baum Quartet, the city council and city councillors welcomed the guests from Kreuzberg in the town hall.
City council chairman Franz Fuchs emphasized that the partnership should go beyond administrative cooperation.
Together they decided to organize student exchanges starting in September and an exhibition of Wiesbaden artists in the Kreuzberg town hall.
As a sign of friendship and solidarity, Lord Mayor Buch and District Mayor Abendroth then exchanged a ceramic model of the Berlin Bear and a vase with the Wiesbaden coat of arms. Finally, an entry was made in the city's Golden Book.
