Schikaneder's libretto was shortened by director Gerrit Voges for the Igstadter Scheunentheater, resulting in a humorous, entertaining version of the opera classic. Clever musical arrangements also help to present The Magic Flute in an evening of theater without being overlong.

The audience can experience how the familiar characters Tamino and Pamina, Papageno and Papagena, the Queen of the Night and Sarastro, three ladies, Monostatos, priests and ghosts sing and play in a brilliant stage setting and how the couples approach the happy ending of this enchanting story despite difficult trials. Always accompanied with virtuosity by the Scheunentheater's opera-tested six-piece band.
