kuenstlerhaus43 in the Palasthotel
The Palasthotel, where the Kochbrunnen fountain steams in the middle of Kranzplatz, has been home to the kuenstlerhaus43 since 1905.
At the turn of the century, it was the most modern hotel in Europe in imperial times. Since 2020, the historic breakfast rooms have been used for cultural purposes. The city-famous kuenstlerhaus43 from Obere Webergasse brings the spectacular rooms to life with its unusual theater (cultural) projects. Performances are staged under a historic glass dome: classicism meets art nouveau on unplastered walls. Trusses with spotlights provide a view of a Mediterranean courtyard.
The show starts right at the west entrance on the evergreen artificial turf. The audience is greeted personally and enters a colorful dream factory: dinner theater, poetry slam, reading brunch, children's plays, exciting guest performances, music events and much more... Right in the middle and fully involved... there is no separation of stage and auditorium. Theater is what happens all around.
Successful dinner theater productions have been delighting audiences for years in an unusual setting, with tempting menus and regionality. Here you can bite into coq au vin alongside Napoleon. Listen to the sounds of the accordion over goose wine and unwind with a glass of sparkling wine. In addition to theater productions, workshops and seminars are also held here and the annual summer festival is forged here. A modern air filtration system and large window fronts provide fresh air and creative light. The premises can also be booked for company anniversaries, birthday parties or wedding receptions.
