Walkmühle Artists' Association
The non-profit artists' association Walkmühle e.V. is an exhibition and cultural event center with an attached studio house in the former industrial wasteland Walkmühle.
Founded in 2003, the association sees itself as an open network of artists, people interested in culture and players from the creative industries. It is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine (ADKV) and was awarded the prize for the promotion of cultural life by the state capital of Wiesbaden in 2011 for its commitment.
The focus of the association's activities is the annual organization of two thematic group exhibitions, often with socially very topical and relevant content. In addition, the association organizes a salon on artistic topics on the first Wednesday of each month.
Another focus of the association's work is the interdisciplinary regional and international networking of artists with each other and with the international art world. To this end, the association is also developing a studio building in the Walkmühle, which will offer artists affordable workspaces in an appropriate environment and thus potential for development.
