Easter vacation at Freudenberg Castle

The Easter vacations in Hesse begin on April 5 - during the school vacations, the Freudenberg Castle working group offers a varied program. Each day has a theme, an impulse, an activity. There are regular public events and guided tours for all guests.

We do it like the bees: We're going to bee with you throughout the Easter vacations! Because 'Durchlenzenˋ is beekeeper lingo for the time after winter when the queen broods again and the bee colony becomes active. It starts with a cleaning flight to the Freudenberg - you leave your habits behind to experience something new. Then the first foraging flights, where amazement and wonder become realization. And this also includes lazing around to enjoy the beauty of the world with its many people, animals, flowers and cherry trees - once the bees have pollinated them.

Program:

  • The public guided tour of the Field of Experience takes place every Sunday at 3 pm with an open end.
  • On Good Friday, Tom Karcher, experience field player since 2009 and fire expert, offers a public guided tour entitled "Beware of fire" at 3 pm. Here, everyone, young and old, can experience it first-hand: Fire is a real communal experience. Sitting together around a fire, tending and guarding a fire, observing the fire's "food chain": Collecting, sorting, sawing, splitting and carving wood.
  • For adults, there will be a talk and discussion with Wolfgang Nährig (consultant) on current affairs on Good Friday evening, tickets are available online.
  • On Holy Saturday and Easter Monday, there will also be public Easter tours by and with Bernhard Stichlmair, Head of the Landscape Experience Field, at 3 pm.
  • The waterworks celebrates the start of the season and invites visitors to explore the element and splash around. The kiosk also opens and offers the first ice cream of the season.

During the Hessian Easter vacations, the field of experience is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, at weekends and on public holidays from 11 am to 6 pm. Registration is not necessary, day tickets are available on site at the ticket office.
