Kunstverein Bellevue Hall
The Bellevue-Saal at Wilhelmstraße 32 is an art association for contemporary art.
It was founded in 1986 as "Verein zur Förderung künstlerischer Projekte mit gesellschaftlicher Relevanz e.V." by a group of artists, initially as a platform for the realization of their own projects. In autumn 1993, the association took over the organization of art exhibitions in the empty dining room of the former Bellevue spa hotel on Wilhelmstrasse in Wiesbaden.
The Kunstverein's first exhibition at Wilhelmstraße 32 was opened on May 27, 1994 as a joint exhibition.
The Wiesbaden State Museum, the Museum Ernst, the Nassauische Kunstverein, the Villa Clementine Literature House, the SAM - Stadtmuseum am Markt and the Hessische Staatstheater are all located in the immediate vicinity of the Kunstverein Bellevue-Saal.
Concept of the exhibitions
- 1:1: In the "1:1" series, an artist from the Rhine-Main region develops a concept for a joint exhibition in the Bellevue Hall together with an artist from outside the region.
- SOLO: The "SOLO" series presents artists whose work deserves greater public attention.
Applications can be submitted by April 30 of each year with all documents in digital form by e-mail to vorstandkunstverein-bellevue-saalde.
