Premises in the Mauritius media library
The city library, music library and media center are housed in spacious and barrier-free rooms.
The municipal library, music library and media center are housed in spacious and barrier-free rooms on three floors, which are connected by wide staircases and a glass elevator.
On entering the entrance to the Mauritius media library at Hochstättenstraße 6-10, you are taken directly to the middle floor (level 1) with a central service counter where customers of the city and music library can obtain information.
The lower floor (level 0) houses the entire music library, the non-fiction media and a joint reference desk. Level 0 also offers a reading room and a joint event area for events organized by the City and Music Library.
On the middle level 1, in addition to the service desk, there is access to the media center, the youth library with space for reading and learning together and the children's library.
The latter is completely geared towards the needs of the little ones. From the self-checkout desk to shelves, chairs, tables and toilets, everything is at a height suitable for children. Even the littlest ones have been catered for with breastfeeding furniture and a baby changing room.
In addition to a wide range of media, the children's library has a story room for events, a writing workshop, cozy corners for playing and relaxing and a crawling tunnel under the stairs.
A large glass dome floods the upper floor (level 2) with light. Novels, audio books and films await visitors here.
The adjoining reading café with reading terrace invites you to relax with a cup of coffee and a newspaper or magazine.
Both readers who need absolute peace and quiet to work and those who want to share the pleasure of reading with each other will find their place in the Mauritius Mediathek.
