Accessibility at events in Wiesbaden
Everyone has a right to inclusive interaction. Accessibility in the RMCC, Kurhaus Wiesbaden and Jagdschloss Platte event venues is implemented differently depending on the venue. Irrespective of this, there have been many opportunities and measures for inclusion in Wiesbaden for years.
Barrier-free at the RMCC
The event locations are also dedicated to this topic. The planners of the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) have set themselves the goal of implementing this basic right in a service and comfort-oriented manner. This means that not only guests and visitors benefit from barrier-free facilities, but also the event organizers.
In summer 2021,the RMCC was certified according to the criteria of the nationwide labeling system for barrier-free travel offers"Travel for All".
The relevant data on accessibility on site was recorded by an independent expert and evaluated by the certification body in Berlin.
Barrier-free in the Kurhaus
The Kurhaus Wiesbaden has also set itself the goal of implementing this basic right as far as possible within the framework of monument protection.
Level event rooms, barrier-free access from the bowling green (main entrance) and the spa gardens (rear entrance), assistance if required via a bell at the entrance, wheelchair-accessible, step-free sanitary facilities and 20 disabled parking spaces are available to guests.
Barrier-free in the Platte hunting lodge
The Jagdschloss Platte offersfree access for all visitors. All three levels, the first floor, the upper floor and the basement can be reached using the passenger elevator . Free and disabled-friendly parking spaces, a separate room for wheelchairs and a small ramp at the main entrance, which the staff will be happy to set up, are available to guests.
Accessibility in Wiesbaden
With the help of a large number of tactile city maps around Wiesbaden, visually impaired and blind people can find the streets of the city center as well as all important sights and (administrative) buildings, making it easier to find their way around Wiesbaden.
Mobility is a central element of independence. More and more bus stops are being retrofitted with acoustic announcements to provide travel information for all passengers.
The "Wiesbaden barrier-free" (opens in a new tab) website was launched so that people with disabilities can better organize and shape their everyday lives. There, Wiesbaden residents and visitors to the city can find out about the accessibility of public buildings and other facilities in the city, such as hotels and restaurants, as well as their facilities. In addition, there is a range of useful information on the subject of accessibility, advice services and event information. The site is largely barrier-free and can therefore also be used by blind people. A read-aloud function is also integrated.
