Autobahnkirche Medenbach

The Autobahn church in Medenbach - donated by Alfred Weigle as an oasis of peace and contemplativeness for anyone who wants to escape the everyday rush and find peace in silent prayer - was consecrated on 30 March 2001 as the first Autobahn church in Hesse.

The "resting place for the soul" is located on the A3 Cologne-Frankfurt Autobahn between the exit for Niedernhausen and the Wiesbaden intersection. There are signs to the church along the Autobahn with the symbol for churches. Pedestrians and cyclists can reach the church from Medenbach by an access road for suppliers to the restaurant or via the Autobahn police station (the continuation of Wildsachsener Strasse).

The Medenbach Autobahn church is open all year round night and day and offers the visitor the opportunity for quiet and inner reflection. Personal thoughts may be written in a "prayer request book". In addition, the church's whole appearance is an invitation to meditation.
