"We are delighted that we were once again able to bring the joie de vivre, lightness and hospitality that this festival radiates to life for the many guests - including those from outside the region. The Rheingau Wine Week is and remains a crowd-puller and is important for the revitalization of our town centre. Retailers, restaurants and hotels also benefit from the increased number of visitors, especially on the two weekends," says Mayor Christiane Hinninger. "And this year, the ESWE event ticket for the Wine Week was even better received than last year, with around 9,500 vouchers being issued - this shows that we are on the right track with our offer of climate-friendly travel," says Hinninger happily. He adds: "The bicycle checkroom was also always full." The "wine festival ticket" could be exchanged for a voucher for a wine tasting at selected winegrowers at the mobility center stand.

From August 9 to 18, 2024, guests flocked to the Dern'sche Gelände, Schlossplatz and the squares around the Marktkirche: "The number of visitors is very positive. As in previous years, we record a very high number of visitors every day. The weekends are of course busier, but the winegrowers are also very satisfied with the sales during the week," summarizes Simon Rottloff, authorized signatory at Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH and responsible for the outdoor events. And the 96 wineries that were represented on site at their stands were also satisfied with this year's Rheingau Wine Week. However, the recovery phase for the wineries after the wine week is short, as there is still a lot of work to be done in the vineyards before the harvest begins in mid-September. However, the Wine Week in Wiesbaden is an important date in the calendar for Rheingau winegrowers every year: "The Rheingau Wine Week in Wiesbaden is the highlight of the festival season for many Rheingau winegrowers. This is also reflected in the fact that many of them have been involved since the very beginning and, for them, planning for the next year already begins at the end of the wine week. As the Rheingau Winegrowers' Association, we are delighted that our destination partner, the WICM and the city of Wiesbaden, organize this fantastic festival every year together with the Rheingau winegrowers and make it possible for them. This is where contacts are cultivated, new ones made and our region is promoted together," explains Dominik Russler, Managing Director of Rheingauer Weinbauverband e. V. and Rheingauer Weinwerbung GmbH.

"This year, the Rheingau Wine Week really was exceptionally sun-drenched. Despite the many very warm and hot days, we were once again able to welcome several hundred thousand visitors to the wine week. We were very well prepared at all times - the ESWE water stand provided visitors with good Wiesbaden drinking water, the first-aid station between the Marktkirche and the children's daycare center immediately helped with circulatory problems and there were plenty of shady spots at the wine stands," explains Simon Rottloff. The emergency services also gave a positive summary. There were more call-outs at the weekends and on the hotter days, mainly due to circulatory problems and insect bites (especially from wasps). Otherwise, visitor behavior was largely calm and relaxed. There were no major incidents.

WICM GmbH was also satisfied with the utilization of the event space - all but two stands, which were cancelled at short notice, were occupied. Cooperation with the winegrowers, restaurateurs and other service providers also went smoothly.

Special thanks go to the waste disposal companies of the state capital of Wiesbaden (ELW), who ensured that the event area was always clean.
