Neroberg - The vineyard
Within the city, the Neroberg, Wiesbaden's local mountain, is one of the most popular excursion destinations. The 245-metre-high hill, on which the Neroberg wine also thrives under the care of the Hessian State Wine Estates, offers many leisure opportunities.
Neroberg
If you get off at the top of the Neroberg, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the city from Wiesbaden's local mountain. One eye-catcher is the Monopteros, a small Italian Renaissance-style lookout tower that has conveyed a sense of Mediterranean grandeur here for a good 170 years.
It is fitting that Wiesbaden's only vineyard, which is run by the Hessian state wineries Kloster Eberbach, is located here on the Neroberg. And the evening program is also taken care of: throughout July, the "Impro Summer" by the improv theater group "Für Garderobe keine Haftung" takes place on weekends in the Erlebnismulde.
Walking paths lead you into a beautiful park landscape, past the Opelbad, where bathers can swim their lengths high above the city, and on to the Russian Orthodox Church with the coffin of Princess Elisabeth, who died young.
Wiesbaden's local mountain has an extremely high romance factor, so it's no wonder that the Nerobergbahn sometimes even makes special trips - when bridal couples say "I do" in the wedding carriage.
