Sustainability is the key to future success in the event industry and a central concern for us!
Jagdschloss Platte and the state capital of Wiesbaden are facing up to the challenges of a resource-conserving event location and are continuously expanding their measures. These include the promotion of energy efficiency and climate protection initiatives, certifications, waste avoidance and cooperation with regional sustainable service providers.
Building "from old to new"
The ruins of the Platte hunting lodge have been preserved.
Built in the 19th century, the Platte hunting lodge is now a living monument and event venue in the middle of the Taunus forests. The building, which was destroyed down to the outer walls, has been restored and modernized in keeping with its listed status. The historical character of the ruins has been preserved and supplemented with new, modern elements such as a glass roof and a viewing platform with a view of 85 km of Taunus forests.
The combination of old, well-preserved architecture and new elements as well as the glass roof and viewing platform underline the extraordinary character of the castle.
Jagdschloss Platte is designed in such a way that events can be held comfortably at any time of year . Modern, energy-optimized air conditioning and heating technology as well as thermally insulated, multi-glazed windows ensure low heat consumption in the cold months.
In order to create a framework for resource-saving events, Jagdschloss Plate obtains its electricity from renewable energy sources. The daylight entering through the glass roof further reduces energy consumption (and therefore the overall costs of the event), as there is no need for artificial lighting during the day.
Best certification standards
Fair duty
Fairpflichtet is the sustainability code of the German-speaking event industry. Compliance with the EVVC/GCB sustainability code "fairpflichtet" is a matter of course for us:
1. STRATEGY. Sustainable management means acting strategically, taking the lead and integrating it into corporate processes.
2. sustainability is understood above all as an OPPORTUNITY; to solve the effects of entrepreneurial action in the future and for the benefit of all.
3. the "sustainable entrepreneur" fulfills his responsibility in the region to increase the COMMON GOOD.
4) ECONOMY in balance with ecology and social aspects are equal concerns for the long-term stability of the company.
5. responsible use of RESOURCES AND ENERGY means firstly avoiding, secondly reducing and thirdly replacing in a regenerative way.
6. the "sustainable employer" fulfills a demanding SOCIAL COMPETENCE towards its employees, increases their qualifications and secures employment.
7. out of RESPECT for people, the "sustainable employer" is committed to respecting human rights and opposes all forms of discrimination and corruption.
8. openness is an attitude. Transparency of measures for sustainability is the consequence.
9. the voluntary SELF COMMITMENT to sustainability is a duty to oneself that becomes a requirement of society.
10. the "sustainable entrepreneur" sets INCITES to rethink and act in order to involve employees and partners in a continuous improvement process of sustainability.
With Ökoprofit (ÖKOlogisches PROjekt Für Integrierte UmweltTechnik), the state capital of Wiesbaden promotes resource conservation and energy efficiency in companies. Jagdschloss Platte has also been involved since 2017 and is consistently pursuing the path to sustainable development.
CSR Regio.Net Wiesbaden offers companies from Wiesbaden, the Rheingau-Taunus district and Hochheim the opportunity to engage with the topic of "responsible corporate governance" as part of a network and to work on systematically integrating social aspects into all areas of corporate activity. We took part in CSR Regio.Net in 2022.
As a company, we involve all employees and partners in the ongoing sustainability development process. We raise awareness and motivate ourselves as a team and each individual employee to do business sustainably and to get actively involved. We are committed to the regular review and continuous optimization of our operating processes in ecological, social and economic terms and provide incentives for rethinking and acting and communicate the company's (environmental) strategies and goals openly and regularly to all employees and partners.
The participants' journey to the event is usually one of the biggest environmental impacts. This can be significantly reduced by ensuring good accessibility by public transport, switching to e-cars or organizing shuttles.
Jagdschloss Platte is only a few minutes' drive from Wiesbaden city center. The number of electrically powered vehicles and therefore public charging stations is increasing as a result of e-funding from the federal government and an e-mobility concept in Wiesbaden. There are two ESWE AC standard charging stations with up to 22 kW directly in front of the Jagdschloss Platte. The Jagdschloss Platte can also be reached via various bus routes . If you would prefer to organize a shuttle to take you and your guests from the venue to the hotel, we will be happy to take care of it.
In addition, our cooperation with Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) makes it possible to provide your event at Jagdschloss Platte with a combined ticket from the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (Rhine-Main Transport Association), thus helping to reduce your carbon footprint, leave your private car at home during an event lasting several days and relieve traffic congestion.
Another building block for a resource-friendly event is the catering. The ecological footprint of an event is further reduced if organizers opt for regional catering with as little meat as possible.
At Jagdschloss Platte, you are not tied to an exclusive partner. However, to ensure that your wedding runs smoothly, we recommend partners who are familiar with the local conditions and have already organized many weddings at Jagdschloss Platte. Many of our partners are regional, attach particular importance to sustainability and will work out your entire menu according to your ideas.
Last but not least, a sustainability consultant trained by the GCB e. V. is available to assist event planners in all matters relating to the organization of green meetings. Get in touch with us!
