Advantages of a winter wedding
A winter wedding has many advantages. On the one hand, romance plays a major role: in the winter months, the Jagdschloss Platte is often covered in snow and offers a dreamlike backdrop of "white" greenery. Your guests can't get enough of the beautiful panoramic view of the snow-covered Rhine Valley, the rooftops of Wiesbaden or the Taunus mountains. For moments like these, a viewing platform has been installed under the glass roof construction: from up here, you and your guests can see up to 85 km away when visibility is good.

Secondly, you have a wide choice of service providers (opens in a new tab). Most weddings take place in the summer months, when many service providers are fully booked well in advance. We will be happy to find the right service provider for you. The same applies to your desired location date: in the winter months, even those who decide at short notice have a good chance of getting their desired wedding date.
Another advantage of the Jagdschloss Platte is its unique roofing. Your guests are always dry, are well warmed by our heating system and can marvel at the glass roof, which may be covered in snow.

The Jagdschloss Platte in Wiesbaden is a very special location. It is only a few minutes' drive from the city center. In an exclusive setting 500 meters above sea level, we offer you a breathtaking view of the Rhine Valley. The adjoining forest, which is part of the Taunus, looks fairytale-like in winter. Then a wedding in the snowy landscape is a dream.
The Platte hunting lodge was built in 1826 as the autumn residence of the ducal family of Nassau. During the Second World War, the castle was destroyed down to its foundations. The remains were extensively restored. The character of the ruins was preserved and modern building elements such as glass, steel, wood and stone were added. History meets modernity!
Today, events of various kinds can take place on a total of three floors, the first floor, the upper floor and in the well-preserved vaulted cellar.
