Summer wedding of Kim & Duy
"It simply couldn't have been more beautiful for us."
Our wedding date
June 2019
Planning & lead time
We enquired about and visited the hunting lodge 2 years in advance. As it was our absolute dream location, we booked it about 1 3/4 years beforehand after a thorough financial check of the service providers.
This is how we celebrated
As we were getting married in church that day, our wedding ceremony took place in the Dreifaltigkeitskirche. After the church ceremony, the champagne reception with a live crêpe bar took place outside in front of the Jagdschloss Platte. We set up a candy bar in the rotunda under the stairs, with the gift table opposite. We set up seating boxes in the large adjoining room so that older guests could also relax in the castle. We also set up a photo box in an alcove on the ground floor and a table with the guest book.
After the champagne reception, we took photos around the castle with all the guests, the scenery around it is of course breathtaking and beautifully green.
After the group photos, we went upstairs for dinner. As we had around 160 guests, used round tables and offered a live buffet, the upper floor was well filled. However, there was still room for a small dance floor as well as for our live band for the family dance fans.
Thanks to the round tables, we also had enough space for a polonese in Vietnamese tradition.
For the wedding dance we went to the rotunda on the ground floor, which was ultimately the opening of the party. The DJ booth and the bar were also set up on the ground floor shortly beforehand.
We also set up a few tables, bar tables and chairs in the adjoining room with the glass door so that the older guests had the option of sitting down.
It was important to us to use the rooms in Jagdschloss Platte as much as possible. As we had the whole house to ourselves, we were able to celebrate extensively, undisturbed and in a beautiful setting.
Our ideas & tips for you
The Jagdschloss Platte offers a lot of space for creativity and the realization of an (even large) individual wedding. We found that we were able to realize everything we had in mind. Just remember to plan early enough. Especially if you want to do a lot yourself.
✔ We also set up a small children's table on the upper floor with toys and painting materials for the youngest guests.
✔ We had set up an "emergency box" in the toilet area, which contained all sorts of things to help with supposed faux pas. Whether it was an existing sewing kit for the tear in the dress, stain cleaner to remove a wine stain or simply hair ties/hair clips to re-style the hair.
✔ We had hired a shuttle service so that the guests could celebrate with us and nobody had to worry about how to get back to the hotel or home.
✔ Don't skimp on the photographers and videographers. It's always a lot of money, but well worth it for this day. Our videographer was able to take great shots from above with his drone and these pictures are simply worth their weight in gold.
A photo box is also a great way to entertain the guests and a nice souvenir for afterwards.
✔ Enjoy the day to the full and don't go unnecessarily crazy. It will be an unforgettable day and this location contributes a lot to that!
Highlight/favorite moment of the day
The whole day was a highlight for us, we were able to enjoy the day to the full as we were lucky enough to have a great wedding party.
We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank our girls and boys once again, who helped us a lot on the day of the wedding, especially with the set-up! As the bride, I was able to relax, get ready and look forward to the day.
Breakdowns, bad luck & mishaps
Our wedding car broke down after the church ceremony, which is why the motorcade was virtually canceled. The sudden change in weather was probably too much for the car. Not so bad, though, because we had enough carpooling opportunities. :)

Is there a "special tip" for the Jagdschloss Platte?
As we had a large number of guests, it was very important for us to keep an eye on the budget. As a result, we did all the decorations ourselves. It's important to choose the right people to help you with this.
