The Platte hunting lodge

Region and surroundings of the Jagdschloss Platte

It would be hard to find a more pleasant conference location: The Rhine and Taunus mountains dominate the landscape around Wiesbaden. The former spa town attracts visitors with sights, shopping experiences, culinary delights and many stories.

The world used to meet here to experience the healing effects of the thermal baths. In addition to the high society, it was scientists, painters and poets who found relaxation on the Rhine. Old master Goethe raved about the magnificent view that opened up from every path. He praised the wine and the Schwalbach water. He also visited the Taunus ridge, on which the Platte hunting lodge was later built. Later, doctors and pharmacists gathered here to debate in the castle.

The Rheingau continues to cast a spell over many guests today. Centrally located, just half an hour's drive from Frankfurt Airport and easy to reach by ICE train via Wiesbaden main station, the state capital is surrounded by mountains. Ideal for congresses, conferences, exhibitions and celebrations. An attractive supporting program is provided by nature. Additional highlights are offered by international events such as the Rheingau Music Festival.

From the Taunus

From the hunting lodge, you and your guests have a sweeping view over the Rhine Valley. In good weather, you can see up to 85 kilometers into the countryside. The view from the Taunus ridge was also appreciated by the builders of the castle. There used to be a large viewing platform on the roof. Guests of the house loved the view over the countryside. After the castle was destroyed during the Second World War, one of the architects' main concerns in the 1980s was to combine landscape and building. The glass roof is a modernist reminder of the lost viewing platform. Today, the newly built bridge in the estate offers a sheltered view of the surrounding countryside.

A paradise for all nature lovers, hikers and cyclists!

You can get to know the area around the Platte via circular hiking trails. In winter, families with young children meet here to go sledging. In the warmer months of the year, on the other hand, you can enjoy cycling tours of varying lengths. A bike tour to Idstein is ideal for team building or informal discussions between colleagues.
