Destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU promotes sustainability, culture and regional delights at ITB 2024
The destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU will be exhibiting at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin, the leading trade fair for the global travel and tourism industry, from March 5 to 7, 2024.
The destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU is presenting itself at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin, the leading trade fair for the global travel and tourism industry. From March 5 to 7, the destination, which will be represented at the trade fair for the second time after 2023 as a premium partner of the Hessian state presentation, will present itself to trade visitors from the travel industry and the tourism media with a focus on culture and enjoyment. The focus will be on the long-awaited opening of the Reinhard Ernst Museum, which is now planned for early summer, and the "Summer of Music", which the renowned Rheingau Music Festival (RMF) will bring to the attractive locations in the Hessian state capital and the Rheingau. "The certification process for the award of the 'TourCert' industry seal to the destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU will undoubtedly also be of particular interest to trade visitors. Sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in tourism and the certification as a sustainable destination, which we are currently in the process of obtaining, gives the destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU an important competitive advantage," Wiesbaden's Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Christiane Hinninger is convinced. Martin Michel, Managing Director of Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH, which is supporting the certification process together with Rheingau-Taunus Kultur und Tourismus GmbH and currently 35 partner companies in the destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU, can only confirm the increasing demand for sustainable events: "The aspect of sustainability is increasingly in demand from city tourists, individual travellers and organizers of trade fairs, congresses and conferences as well as visitors to the cultural landscape of the Rheingau."
Tourism in Hessen presents itself as a unified brand family and is moving closer together. Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH and Rheingau-Taunus Kultur und Tourismus GmbH will present themselves under this umbrella as Destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU and thus as partners of Hessen Tourismus. Following the very positive experience with the new Hessen stand at ITB 2023, the presentation of the destination WIESBADEN RHEINGAU will take place in HUB27 this year - and thus be integrated into the Deutschlandhalle. The close proximity to the stand of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) ensures short distances for exchanges with foreign representatives and other federal states. Trade visitors can once again expect a pleasant atmosphere at the destination's trade fair presence, so that the sales and marketing team can meet not only tourism service providers and B2B customers but also event planners on site, in the middle of the action and yet in peace and quiet, to discuss potential events for the RheinMain CongressCenter, Kurhaus and Jagdschloss Platte.
The stand concept offers sufficient space for events and presentations. Highlights include a wine sensory and aroma bar, where the Rheingau wine princess Silvana will introduce visitors to the secrets of seeing, smelling and tasting wine professionally. Henkell Freixenet, once again a partner of the trade fair presentation of the WIESBADEN RHEINGAU destination, will be offering typical Wiesbaden and Rheingau delights this year.
The Hessen stand at ITB 2024 will also be the venue for a get-together on the first day of the trade fair, where typical Hessian specialties and drinks will be served. The get-together is always very popular as a platform for informal exchange and networking and also serves to get to know and intensify contacts in the tourism industry.
