Travel fever: Wiesbaden

Radio Potsdam was a guest in the Hessian state capital of Wiesbaden. With its 15 thermal and mineral springs, Wiesbaden is one of the oldest spas in Europe - and with a population of just under 300,000, it is the second largest city in Hesse after Frankfurt. Travel expert Peter von Stamm traveled to Wiesbaden by train and then took the bus from the main train station to the Adina Apartment Hotel.

Tourism in times of pandemic

The 2021 re-release of the "We love Wiesbaden" image film was part of the Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH (WICM) re-start campaign, which, in addition to the revised image video, prepared for the gradual return to tourism after the pandemic with brochures, online activities and inserts in a newspaper published throughout Germany.

Even if no tourism activities could take place at the time, it was important to set the right course so that the tourism industry in Wiesbaden and the region could take off again. WICM hoped that the clip, which was produced bilingually in German and English and is also an important marketing tool, would not only be well received at the upcoming digital trade fairs of the travel industry, but also by the people of Wiesbaden and would encourage them.

That's why we love it

The multifaceted nature of the Hessian state capital is particularly evident in this image film, which showcases the joie de vivre of the people of Wiesbaden to the specially composed song "That's why we love it".

Image film "That's why we love it", April 2018

This image film was shown to the public for the first time in April 2018 at the opening events of the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC). The film about the state capital of Hesse focuses on the people of Wiesbaden. The film, which lasts just under four minutes, reflects the many facets of the Hessian state capital, shows unusual perspectives and showcases the joie de vivre of the people of Wiesbaden to the song "That's why we love it" by "25kicks feat. Leonie" at prominent locations in the city. The music for the advertising clip was created by Peter Ries (Riesproduktion) and Sven Fleck.

The film, commissioned by Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH and produced and choreographed by Sven Fleck (20second), was a hit even before its premiere. The city portrait has numerous wonderful visual motifs that captivate the viewer and awaken a great desire to experience Wiesbaden for themselves. The clip was also presented internationally in a specially edited version as part of a roadshow in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai.
