Eppstein Castle is romantically situated on the top of a mountain ridge in the Taunus, surrounded by old fortifications and flanking towers. From this beautiful ruin, you have a great view of Eppstein and nearby Bremthal.

However, the castle, which was built around 1100, is not only famous for itself, but also for the cultural events that are held there. The castle festival has become an integral part of Eppstein's cultural program.
