Mobility in the city - how you can discover Wiesbaden

Whether on foot, by bike or e-car: Wiesbaden offers numerous options for environmentally conscious city and congress guests.

Public transport in Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden has an efficient bus system. The more than 200 vehicles operated by the municipal transport company (ESWE Verkehrs GmbH) serve a route network of 320 kilometers and transport around 180,000 passengers every day. Almost all routes run every ten minutes from early morning to early evening. If you are traveling after 8 p.m., you can find out about the evening services in a late timetable, which can be purchased at the ESWE bus stations. These are located in front of the main station and at the station on Luisenplatz and Platz der deutschen Einheit. Information on timetables, tickets and fares can be found on the ESWE website.

Cycling infrastructure

The expansion of new cycle connections in the city and the renovation of existing cycle paths ensure greater safety and comfort. A seamless basic network of protectedbike lanes, for example, is another measure taken by the city to ensure that cyclists can get through the city center quickly and without cars.

Rewards with the DB Rad+ bike app

For a year now, the state capital of Wiesbaden has been offering the DB Rad+ bicycle app in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn to motivate people to use their bicycles more often. Anyone who collects kilometers with Rad+ can redeem them for numerous discounts with the app's partners or use them to pay for a cappuccino, apples or even admission to the Wiesbaden Museum.

While app users have a direct incentive from cycling, everyone benefits from better air quality and less climate-damaging CO2 when the bicycle replaces the car.

Electromobility

The charging infrastructure for electrically powered vehicles in Wiesbaden is being continuously expanded. ESWE Versorgung currently operates over 130 public charging stations in Wiesbaden and the region.

Here, "e-mobilists" charge their vehicles with 100 percent ESWE Natur-Strom. Type 2 charging points with an output of 22 kilowatts are available for public charging. This means that electric vehicles can be charged up to ten times faster than at a normal household socket. With the right cable, any electric car can be connected - whether type 1 or type 2. Numerous ESWE charging stations are located directly in the city center.

Cab in Wiesbaden

In addition to public transportation, numerous cab companies also offer their services in the city.
