Who would have thought that the foundation of the New York Statue of Liberty was built with cement from the Amöneburg-based company Dyckerhoff? But there are even more success stories: The Kalle company brought the "sausage skin" and the "sponge cloth" to the world from here. Yachts are also built in the various shipyards, and not just on the Rhine - the former Roman settlement has developed into an industrial location with impressive historical buildings over the last few centuries.
