PharMed Forum and PharMed Academy
The two-day PharMed Forum (PMF) in Wiesbaden dealt with current case studies and decisions on drug advertising law, event law, information technology law, the professional regulations of the associations and the training regulations of the medical associations. The Convention Wiesbaden team was on site at this event with Ulrike Theis in order to be able to provide customers with optimal advice on the organization of medical training events at the RMCC in the future. Regular network meetings and congresses are attended at the PharMed Academy.
At the B2B event "m&i Healthcare London 2024", the Convention Wiesbaden team was able to gain valuable insights into the current challenges facing event planners and congress organizers. A key issue facing congress planners and agencies is the increasing competition for medical events and the dwindling availability of venues that meet compliance guidelines and are attractive in terms of accessibility and cost.
Major cities and hotspots in particular are in high demand and sometimes command very high prices due to their position. Smaller conference destinations, so-called "hidden gems", could benefit from this, as they are less well-known, more readily available and often cheaper in terms of the total sum of all cost items. These destinations also often arouse curiosity and increase the willingness of event participants to attend.

In discussions with PCOs, event agencies, congress planners and representatives of medical societies from the UK, Spain, Italy and, above all, the DACH region, the Convention Wiesbaden team was able to convince them of the advantages of Wiesbaden as a congress location and the RheinMain CongressCenter. In particular, the easy accessibility from Frankfurt Airport to Wiesbaden, the green cityscape, the implementation of sustainability concepts and the still relatively unknown destination aroused great interest among the meeting partners.
The most important industry meeting place for employees and managers from pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production and technical service providers has been held at the RMCC since 2023. The next date has already been set.

The Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle für die Arzneimittelindustrie e.V. (FSA) is an association of 59 pharmaceutical companies with the aim of monitoring the proper cooperation between pharmaceutical companies and doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. This also includes the ethically impeccable organization of continuing education events, which must be carried out exclusively according to objective criteria. Conference venues and locations must not be characterized by an experience, entertainment or leisure character.
The most important criteria for selecting the destination and venue in accordance with the Safe Harbour principle therefore include
Requirements for the destination:
Good accessibility by public transport
No infrastructure primarily geared towards tourism (e.g. purely vacation or vacation region)
No organization of events for special occasions, festivals, highlight events in the city
Requirements for the venue:
No outstanding experience or recreational character (e.g. special location in the mountains, by the lake, etc.)
