SDG "Partnerships to achieve the goals"
In Hessian: "Zamme hoalde, doann klappt's aa"
What is it about and what does the SDG "Partnerships for the Goals" mean for the events industry?
The 17th SDG is the basic prerequisite for achieving all other SDGs. Goals can only be implemented within strong collaborations and partnerships and in cooperation. An equal or matching understanding of principles, values and visions is essential to achieve the goals. Transparency and inclusion of stakeholders are also essential.
For the event industry, SDG 17 means that all stakeholders who are directly or indirectly involved in the implementation of an event must make a contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.(Source tw-media.com (opens in a new tab))
How do we implement this?
✓ Inclusion of all stakeholders:
- As a company, we involve all employees and partners in the ongoing sustainability development process. We sensitize and motivate ourselves as a team and each individual employee to do business sustainably and to get actively involved.
✓ Living values together:
- With our sustainability strategy, we are committed to the regular review and continuous optimization of our operating processes in ecological, social and economic terms and provide incentives to rethink and act and communicate the company's (environmental) strategies and goals openly and regularly to all employees and partners
- In the area of social sustainability, we as a company take part in various events throughout the year - together as a team. For example, we take part in the "Wiesbaden engagiert!" (opens in a new tab) campaign week or in a charity charity run (opens in a new tab).
- The joint commitment and cooperation on a sustainable task strengthens the team spirit and creates a better understanding of community and social issues in our society.
✓ Building long-term and strategic partnerships:
- We developed our 2026+ tourism strategy using a participatory approach with numerous stakeholders from the local and regional tourism industry. We have established shared values and made them accessible to everyone. The aim is for all stakeholders to have a common understanding of values.
- With our Wiesbaden partner network (opens in a new tab), we implement projects and sustainable measures together with stakeholders from the various sectors.
- In the WIESBADEN RHEINGAU destination, we work in partnership with our colleagues from the neighboring Rheingau region and implement a wide range of measures together. This is how we create (sustainable) synergies.
- In many service areas, we have been working with local or regional companies for many years. Here we have built up long-standing partnerships and trusting relationships.
- Our partners, e.g. in event technology and catering, come from Wiesbaden or Mainz. We work with permanent partners or with preferred partners.
✓ Involving and informing our service providers:
- We inform and motivate our service providers to join us on the path to a more sustainable future. We have reviewed our conditions in our procurement guidelines to ensure fair procurement of raw materials and use of labor, etc.
- Our service providers (contract value over 10,000 euros) are subject to the Hessian Procurement and Collective Bargaining Act (HVTG). Among other things, this regulates "social, ecological and innovative requirements" as well as aspects of sustainability.
✓ Participation in initiatives and networks:
- Among other things, we are a member of the "Fair Procurement (opens in a new tab)" network, which takes into account fair and sustainable aspects in the supply chain
