Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce
Wilhelmstraße 24 - 26
The former Palace of the Hereditary Prince is considered the most impressive example of late Classicism and is the sole large building designed by the architect Christian Zais which has been preserved. The palace was built for Hereditary Prince Wilhelm between 1813 and 1829. However, since he succeeded early to the throne,he never moved into the building.
After Zais's death the carcass construction was expanded in a design which was kept simple following the example of ancient Greek architecture, and the building was used at various times to house the library of the Land Hesse, a museum and various government agencies. Since 1971, it has been the home of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
