Nerotal
Splendid villas line the Nerotal Park laid out like an English landscape park in the narrow valley where the Bismarck Monument is now located. The valley, previously left as a natural meadow along the stream known as the Schwarzbach, was transformed between 1897 and 1898. Villas from the romantic and late periods of Historicism, from the Wilheminian period and Jugendstil, line Taunusstraße and continue from there up to the end of Nerotal.
At the entrance to the park a Warriors' Monument was erected in 1909 for the soldiers of the 87th and 88th regiments of the Nassau infantry. The monument separates two streets, one following the northern edge of the Nerotal valley, the other the southern edge. The buildings visible along these streets were built between 1843 and 1888.
The oldest part of this construction work still existent is the villa Südliches Nerotal 6 built in 1850. The building was originally a cold-water bath and was used as a residential building from 1874.
