Kaiser-Friedrich-Bad
Langgasse 38 - 40
Thanks to its thermal springs, Wiesbaden became a Weltkurstadt, an international spa. The Romans themselves used the Aquae Mattiacorum for healing and recuperation in the spirit of their proverb mens sana in corpore sano.
Between 1910 and 1913, the Kaiser-Friedrich-Bad was built as a municipal bathing and spa treatment building in the form language of Jugendstil. During construction work on the Kaiser-Friedrichs-Bad a stone floor of a Roman sauna was uncovered which confirmed that the Romans already made use of the hot Adler spring for bathing.
Today's Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme comprises a 1,450 square meters sauna facility centred around the historical Roman-Irish bath.
