The Höppli House
Wörthstraße 4 - 6
Jacob Höppli, a man from Switzerland, had the building in Wörthstraße built to house his "ceramic goods and Delftware" factory.
The factory produced ceramic goods for the building industry which were used in the construction of numerous villas in Wiesbaden.
Typical for the houses built between 1872 and 1876 in the style of the Italian Renaissance are the four caryatids, sculpted female figures which support the decorative framework. The plans for the building were assigned to the Wiesbaden architect Georg Friedrich Fürstchen.
In 1876, Höppli died at the age of 54. Until 1910, Höppli's children continued to operate the artistic workshop, and the descendants of the "ceramic goods manufacturer" lived in the Höppli House until 1992.
