Hessen State Library
Rheinstraße 55/57
The building housing the Hesse State Library in Rheinstraße was built in 1913. Urban Planning Inspector Johannes Grün and Municipal Inspector Berlimund were responsible for the planning and execution of the library's construction. Five low-ceiling floors above the basement and the ground floor provide space for the stacks. The library was given its current name in 1953 when the Land of Hesse took it over; it had previously been called the "Nassauische Landesbibliothek".
