Bismarckring

Wiesbaden has repeatedly had work done on a peripheral ring road since the 1870s. This meant turning away from the urban planning idea of a chessboard type grid of intersecting streets which had been favoured in the first half of the 19th century.

The Bismarckring was constructed between 1888 and 1900. It connects Sedanplatz with the Ringkirche.

The buildings' along the road were not as prestigious as those built in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring which was constructed at the same time, and yet many of the structures still lend the Bismarck-Ring the flair of a late 19th century street.
